The organization will be featured in a segment on “Best American Business Climates” in a series on Economic Development. The segment will be aired on The Travel Channel nationally, and before and after CNN Headline News in many regional markets. A visit to the modest-sized town of Madsen, MS, lets one quickly understand why businesses there are “Positively Madsen.” Beyond its southern charm and hospitality, Madsen boasts a healthy business climate. Madsen Economic Development Council, a non-profit organization, ensures that corporations both domestic and European learn about and realize the benefits of doing business there.
Manufacturing is at the heart of industry here, but Madsen is also the retail, medical and recreational center of the area. Madsen aggressively recruits companies desiring to invest in the region and provide employment to citizens of western Mississippi. In doing so, Madsen pushes to keep local taxes competitive for businesses in the region and works with the State of Mississippi to ensure that companies can operate profitably while doing business there. Madsen also has the available workforce to fill new job opportunities that may arise. With a strong statewide focus on education, Madsen maintains the educational infrastructure to provide companies with the workforce it needs to be successful. With about 19,000 underemployed persons in the region, there are always a surplus of qualified personnel to help establish a thriving business. Red Television Group Madsen is strategically placed near many major markets in the eastern and central United States. Whether one needs to move products by highway, rail, river or air, Madsen has the transportation infrastructure to meet a company’s needs. With a market of over 124 million people within a 600-mile radius, companies have access to multiple markets within a day’s drive. Six interstates are within 90 miles. “I know that we will see further growth and expansion in future years,” says Brian Stemming, president and CEO. For more information, see http: |
